For those travellers who love great food and wine, natural beauty, history and culture, but want to discover the Italy outside the crowded tourist cities, this book is an absolute must have! It details, in a very engaging and personal manner, Anastasia's discoveries in the Val d'Orcia in souther Tuscany where she bought her new home. It is a much needed reflection of what this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage area has to offer, including insights and hidden gems that you won't find in most tourist guides, having been written by someone who is passionate about the area.

  2. M Schipper

It gives insight in a very accessible way into the rich history of a specific region in Tuscany: Val d'Orcia.
The many tips about beautiful places, culinary delights and places that have remained hidden immediately put you in the right mood for setting off. The photography is dazzling and there can only be one conclusion after reading this book: pack your suitcase and go see, taste and feel it for yourself.

  4. Susanne

What a beautiful book for all travelers, but especially for those looking for truly special places you would not easily discover on your own without the tips given in this book.
It offers information about wonderful food, beautiful wines, as well as beer and the surrounding area, combined with plenty of background information and interesting facts about (this part of) Tuscany, all accompanied by stunning photographs.
Highly recommended and, in fact, indispensable for anyone planning to explore Tuscany, and the Val d’Orcia in particular.

See Feel Taste Val d’Orcia is a beautiful and easy-to-read travel and wine book that shows a different side of Tuscany. It gives insider information about special places you normally wouldn’t discover on your own. The book is perfect for people who love wine and food, with great tips that truly reflect the region. The photos are stunning and capture the real beauty of Val d’Orcia. You can clearly feel that Anastasia writes from her own experience, which makes the book personal, authentic, and a pleasure to read.

  6. Robert

See Feel Taste Val d’Orcia is one of those rare travel books that actually does what it promises. It doesn’t just tell you where to go—it helps you experience the region in a deeper, more intentional way. What I loved most is how readable and human the book is. It feels like being guided by someone who truly knows and loves Val d’Orcia, not just as a destination, but as a way of life. The recommendations are thoughtful, practical, and refreshingly specific. No generic “must-sees,” but genuinely well-chosen tips and hidden gems that you wouldn’t easily find online.
The balance between inspiration and usefulness is spot on. You can read it from cover to cover with pleasure, but it’s just as valuable to keep close while traveling, flipping back to it for ideas, places, and moments you don’t want to miss.
What also stands out is the tone: warm, refined, and never pretentious. Anastasia clearly understands how to translate a sensory experience—seeing, feeling, tasting—into words that invite you in rather than overwhelm you.

If you care about traveling well, slowing down, and discovering places beyond the obvious, this book is a wonderful companion. It’s clear that it was written with care, experience, and a genuine desire to help the reader create something memorable.

    Highly recommended.

  7. Laurence

This book is a love letter to the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany—its rolling hills, sun-warmed vineyards, and the quiet poetry of a landscape shaped by centuries of care. With vivid, sensory prose, Anastasia brings the region to life, capturing not only the beauty of cypress-lined roads and medieval villages, but also the deep connection between land, people, and wine. Each page feels steeped in place, where history lingers in the soil and every glass tells a story of tradition and patience. More than a travel or wine book, it is an immersive experience that invites the reader to slow down, savor, and see the Val d'Orcia not only as a destination on the bucket list, but as a way of life. Highly recommended.
